Sheinelle Jones and her late husband, Uche Ojeh, welcomed three children during their time together.
The “Today” show co-host’s partner died in May 2025 after battling glioblastoma, an “aggressive” form of brain cancer.
The journalist’s colleagues revealed Ojeh’s passing on the NBC talk show and honored him with a touching on-air tribute.
Craig Melvin gushed over the late consultant’s fatherhood skills at the time, tearfully saying Ojeh loved Kayin, Clara and Uche “more than anything in the world.”
The news anchor, who considered Jones’ husband a “very good friend,” added, “He was that dad that was on the sidelines at every soccer game, at all the concerts and recitals. He was that guy.”
Meet the members of Jones and Ojeh’s brood below.
Kayin Ojeh
The couple started their family in August 2009 when son Kayin was born, nearly two years after their wedding.
Kayin graduated from middle school in 2024 and spoke at his ceremony in what Jones referred to as a “proud mama” moment.
That same year, he met former President Joe Biden during a White House visit with his mom.
Kayin appears to be following in Jones’ footsteps, interviewing “Diary of A Wimpy Kid” author Jeff Kinney on “NBC Nightly News With Lester Holt: Kids Edition” in 2021.
Uche Ojeh
Kayin became a big brother in July 2012 when Jones gave birth to fraternal twins Clara and Uche.
Three years later, the news anchor up opened on Today.com about raising twins — and teaching them they are “special on their own.”
She wrote, “I wish I had known earlier how important it is to learn who they are as individuals and feed their own particular needs, while also teaching them that they are a team.”
Clara Ojeh
The twins even rang in their birthdays apart in 2024 while Uche was at summer camp.
Jones took Clara to get her ears pierced, gushing to her Instagram followers about the “fun and memorable day” they had.
For their 11th birthday the previous year, the siblings celebrated together at New Jersey’s DreamWorks Water Park.
