PHOENIX — The city of Phoenix approved its tentative budget for the 2025-26 fiscal year, according to a Wednesday announcement.

The 2025-26 budget prioritized investments in housing and community services for Phoenix residents, according to the announcement.

Investments as part of the budget include:

  • The Eviction Legal Services Program: The $1.2 million investment will go toward families and others at risk of being evicted from their homes.
  • Housing trust fund: The $3.2 million investment will help develop and preserve affordable housing in Phoenix.
  • Homelessness response and services: The $5.4 million investment will aid shelter services and outreach teams.
  • Youth and community development: This investment will go toward after-school programs, youth employment and community centers.
  • Neighborhood infrastructure and public safety: The investment will go toward streets, parks, lighting and emergency systems in Phoenix.

More details on Phoenix budget

The budget was developed through public hearings, listening sessions and feedback from Phoenix residents.

“Despite facing significant budgetary challenges caused by external factors, this budget was achieved without cutting any programs or eliminating any city jobs, rather, the budget identifies an efficient and fiscally responsible path forward that protects vital services and the people who rely on them,” Councilwoman Kesha Hodge Washington said in the announcement.

“This budget reflects the values and priorities of our community. We are investing in people, in neighborhoods and in the belief that every resident deserves a safe space to live and the opportunity to thrive.”
