A 27-year-old man from San Bernardino County has been arrested in connection with the shooting deaths of a man and a woman earlier this week.
The circumstances surrounding the violence are limited, but according to a news release from the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department, the incident unfolded on May 20 just before 7 p.m.
Deputies responded to the 18800 block of Madrone Street in Hesperia where they found a 60-year-old man and a 59-year-old woman lying in the driveway of a home suffering from gunshot wounds.
The male victim, identified as Carlos Gonzales, was declared dead at the scene, while the female victim was rushed to the hospital where she later succumbed to her injuries, officials said.
Authorities said they identified Hesperia resident Christian Armstrong as the suspect in the fatal shootings.
“Deputies with the Victor Valley station located Armstrong in Apple Valley and took him into custody,” the release stated.
Detectives with SBSD’s Specialized Investigations Division, Homicide Detail, have assumed the case.
Authorities did not provide a possible motive for the incident, nor was any information provided on the relationship between the man, woman and the suspect.
The female victim’s identity is pending notification of next of kin.
