Nike has launched the Mercurial Vapor Vini Jr. Player Edition, marking the first exclusive boot designed for the Brazilian forward. This release acknowledges Vini Jr.‘s progression in professional football, presenting a model that incorporates performance features with design elements referencing his career trajectory and playing style.
The boot’s design features what Nike terms the Color of Speed, a metallic-effect shade intended to represent the athlete’s velocity and its role in his path to international recognition. The model incorporates expected performance attributes of the Mercurial line, including a three-quarter-length Air Zoom unit for responsive acceleration and Nike Gripknit technology on the toe for ball control.
The visual elements of the boot are designed to reflect Vini Jr.’s personal and national heritage. The internal side transitions from red to yellow, colors associated with his formative years at Flamengo, while the external side features blue, green, and yellow, drawing inspiration from the Brazilian national team. The phrase “Vini Fly, Vini Voa” is integrated into the design, emphasizing the concept of speed.
