Crenshaw Skate Club is ringing in summer with one of life’s simplest pleasures: a cold Coca-Cola in hand.
The Tobey McIntosh-helmed imprint has cracked open a colorful collaborative capsule with Coca-Cola that spans co-branded jerseys, shorts, denim jeans, tees, hoodies, skate decks, and a limited-edition collaborative Coke can.
“While I was designing this collection, my grandpa shared how he once worked as a delivery driver for Coca-Cola in the 70s,” reflected McIntosh on the initial inspiration for the collection, which draws design influence from Coca-Cola’s “For The Real Times” campaign from the 1970s.
“I was fascinated by how a product could connect generations. Intergenerational learning and connection happen every day in our communities, from conversations with our elders to hangouts at the skatepark with friends. When I came across the ‘For The Real Times’ campaign from my grandpa’s era, it made sense to reinvent it with inspiration from personal moments, skateboarding and living in South Central LA. I hope that when people share the cans or wear the clothes, they can spark timeless conversations and build memories across generations with Crenshaw Skate Club.”
