HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WHNT) — The Huntsville Police Department said it arrested a man Monday who had been found with a 14-year-old, supplying them drugs and engaging in sexual activity with them.

HPD said around 11 a.m., officers responded to a report of a possible runaway at a motel in the 3700 block of University Drive. Information received indicated the missing 14-year-old may have been with an adult male.

The department said officers quickly located the room in question and made contact with 35-year-old James Randall Bolden of Huntsville. Inside the room, they found the juvenile victim, along with two firearms, over 175 grams of methamphetamine, fentanyl and drug paraphernalia.

HPD’s Anti-Crime Team, Community Relations Officers and Special Victims Unit said Bolden was “supplying the victim drugs and engaging in sexual activity with her.”

Bolden was booked into the Madison County Jail and charged with:

  • Human trafficking first degree
  • Statutory rape second degree
  • Trafficking methamphetamine
  • Possession with intent to distribute
  • Possession of a controlled substance
  • Certain persons forbidden to possess a firearm

This case remains under investigation.
