Two teams that lost their first game of the WNBA season will play on Monday night as the Dallas Wings host the Seattle Storm.
Paige Bueckers was solid in her WNBA debut, scoring 10 points on 3-for-10 shooting and grabbing seven rebounds, though she added just two assists.
The game’s big story was Dallas’s frontcourt rotation, as presumed starting center Teaira McCowan came off the bench and played just five minutes. Depth is a concern for the Wings, especially if McCowan is barely part of the rotation.
Seattle suffered a shocking loss on Saturday night. It’s not that they lost to Phoenix, but by how much an injury-riddled Mercury team dominated them was not expected. Even with Kahleah Copper out, Phoenix was firing on all cylinders, winning 81-59.
Diggins was 7-for-14 with 21 points, but that was the only real highlight for Seattle. Nneka Ogwumike was the only other Storm player to score in double figures with 12 points. Starters Alysha Clark, Ezi Magbegor, and Gabby Williams combined for six points.
