An Inland Empire man was arrested after he allegedly stole a wallet and swung a metal object at a woman while high on PCP.
Brock Bright, a 42-year-old Bloomington resident, stole the wallet in the 18000 block of 10th Street at about 8:40 a.m. Sunday, the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department said in a news release.
Bright, described as having a large build, initially fled the scene but was later seen walking around the area.
He was spotted about 20 minutes later near the 18000 block of 6th Street, where he was nude and “holding a metal object,” the SBSD said. He was allegedly under the influence of phencyclidine, otherwise known as PCP.
After swinging that metal object at a woman, he put his clothes back on and tried to flee again, only to be found by deputies five minutes later, authorities said.
He tried to flee for a third time, including by “attempting to forcibly enter the front yard of an occupied residence,” and when that proved unsuccessful, he refused to cooperate with deputies before they “soon gained compliance,” the SBSD said.
He is facing a charge of assault with a deadly weapon and is being held at the West Valley Detention Center in lieu of $40,000 bail. He’s due to appear in Rancho Superior Court on Tuesday.
