PHOENIX – All Yavapai College campuses and centers were placed on lockdown and closed for the day on Monday for an unspecified police matter, officials said.
Anyone at one of the Prescott-area community college’s facilities was told to shelter in place around 6 a.m.

The school is between semesters. The spring semester ended last week, and graduations were held earlier this month. The summer session starts Jun 2.
The latest alert on college’s website reads:

All college campuses and centers remain on lockdown. This is an active police matter specific to Yavapai College.
The College is closed for the day. Employees students and the public should not enter any college property at this time. If you are already present at the college, please shelter in place.
All offices and services are closed and employees are not working. There is no remote work today.
Yavapai College has seven locations in Yavapai County:
- Prescott Campus in Prescott
- Verde Valley Campus in Clarkdale
- Career and Technical Education Center in Prescott
- Chino Valley Center in Chino Valley
- Prescott Valley Center in Prescott Valley
- Sedona Center in Sedona
- Prescott Pines in Prescott
