Officials announced Friday that a 10-time convicted felon was arrested in connection with a deadly 2024 fentanyl overdose event at a Palmdale home.

The Department of Justice identified the felon as Damian Michael Evans, 46, of the Antelope Valley.

Evans was arrested on Thursday and faces a 10-count federal grand jury indictment accusing him of distributing fentanyl to a Palmdale residence that consequently killed four people.

It happened on Jan. 15, 2024, and the indictment alleges that Evans knowingly and intentionally dealt the deadly drug, resulting in the four fatal overdoses.

Details on the event are limited; the victims were not identified, and it was not immediately revealed whether Evans had known them before the deal.

Evans’ criminal history includes convictions dating from 1997 to 2016 for 10 felonies, according to the DOJ, nine of them drug-related convictions and most of them for drug dealing.

After his Thursday arrest, Evans was charged with the following, according to officials: one count of distribution of fentanyl resulting in death, two counts of possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine, two counts of possession with intent to distribute fentanyl, two counts of possession with intent to distribute cocaine, one count of possession with intent to distribute methylenedioxymethamphetamine (MDMA), one count of possessing a firearm and ammunition in furtherance of a drug trafficking crime and one count of being a felon in possession of a firearm and ammunition.

“If convicted of all charges, Evans would face a mandatory minimum sentence of 25 years in federal prison and a statutory maximum sentence of life imprisonment,” said the DOJ.
