Every athlete knows the importance of quick recovery, especially when battling the hot sun, sprawling courses, and relentless challenges. Rory McIlroy and Justin Thomas are no exception.

For Thomas and McIlroy, maintaining peak performance goes beyond sharp swings—staying fueled is key, just as seen with the 2025 RBC Heritage winner during the first round.

On Day 1 of the PGA Championship, when several top PGA Tour and LIV Golf contenders faltered at Quail Hollow, Thomas shocked fans with a daring shot at the final hole.

At the 18th hole, Thomas’ ball skidded through the rocks, stopping dangerously close to Quail Hollow Creek.

This ultimately forced the 2-time Major winner to go barefoot to take his next shot.

But before his unconventional moment, Thomas was noticed drinking something unusual from a transparent bottle – that wasn’t transparent at all!

It was rusted in color, something similar to an energy drink.

Though the name of his new drink is not out yet, it looks like Thomas has improved his diet after failing at his daily free, gluten-free diet experiment.

Justin Thomas is not alone

Interestingly, Rory McIlroy sparked similar intrigue at Augusta National, where his black bottle at the Masters left fans guessing. Now, Thomas seems to be following Rory’s lead, fueling speculation over his drink choice.

While Thomas hasn’t publicly confirmed what he was drinking, one likely answer could be his association with LIVPUR NUTRITION, a hydration supplement brand boasting 20 essential nutrients with zero added sugar.

Back in 2023, LivPur Nutrition restocked one of its most popular flavors—Cool Lime Hydrate, a favourite of Thomas.

“I love it because it provides rapid hydration with all the vitamins, electrolytes and amino acids that you’re looking for in a sports drink while being NSF Certified for Sport so you can enjoy it with confidence,” Thomas admitted in an interview.

Recovery, hydration, and energy are crucial for peak performance, and LivPur Nutrition’s formula offers key benefits like enhanced athletic ability and fatigue resistance.

These qualities, along with faster muscle recovery, could explain Thomas’s mysterious drink choice.

So, was Justin Thomas fueling up with LivPur’s Cool Lime Hydrate, or was it something else entirely? For now, the mystery remains.
