FLORENCE, Ala. (WHNT) — Florence Parks and Recreation has announced the return of “Music In The Park” which will be hosted at Wilson Park.
According to city officials, “Music In The Park”, is a free summer concert series that will have live music throughout May and June.
Music In The Park Concert Series: Wednesdays in May from 11:30 a.m. until 1 p.m.
- May 7 – Shannon Knight
- May 14 – Joseph Baldwin
- May 21 – Jacob Adams
- May 28 – The Cadillacs
Stars and Guitars Concert Series: Fridays in June at 7 p.m.
- June 6 – Dixie Mafia
- June 13 – CC Jags
- June 20 (Make Music Day Kick-off)– The Midnighters
- June 27 – Howell Sledge & The Revue
“Our Music in the Park series has become a cornerstone summer tradition in Florence,” said Bill Jordan, Director of Florence Parks and Recreation. “With both lunchtime and evening concerts, we’re offering our community multiple ways to enjoy live music in a beautiful, welcoming setting, completely free of charge.”
Music in the Park is held at Wilson Park, home to the iconic statue of W.C. Handy, the “Father of the Blues,” who was born in Florence in 1873. Guests are encouraged to bring lawn chairs or blankets.
