US singer Chris Brown has been arrested and charged with inflicting “grevious bodily harm” due to an alleged assault incident that happened at a London nightclub in February 2023, British authorities said on Thursday.

The 36-year-old was arrested Thursday at a hotel in Manchester in relation to the 2023 nightclub incident, the London Metropolitan Police’s statement said.

On that night over two years ago, he allegedly attacked music producer Abe Diaw with a bottle at the exclusive Tape nightclub in the UK capital city, The Sun daily reported.

Brown will be presented in a magistrate’s court on Friday, the London police’s statement said.

Brown expected to perform in UK next month

He is due to perform in Britain on a number of dates next month.

Brown entered the music industry at a young age of 16 and became one of the biggest names in R&B and pop. He is known for singing songs like “Run It!,” “Under The Influence,” “Loyal” and “Look At Me Now.”
