Taiwan’s D-Day Pictures unveiled horror film Phantom at the Cannes market today, with Singapore-based Mokster Films onboard as international sales agent and producer.

Set for theatrical release in 2026, Phantom will be directed by D-Day founder Lester Hsi (The Bridge Curse, The Bridge Curse: Ritual) and produced by Fiona Hu (Black & White: The Dawn Of Justice) and Mokster Films’ Nelson Mok (Red Thread).

Phantom follows a social worker Youmo, who is reassigned to the trauma unit. She soon stumbles upon a disturbing case involving a series of mysterious deaths. As eerie phenomena begin to occur, including phantom footsteps, shifting objects, and unseen forces, Youmo uncovers forbidden rituals and buried wartime secrets connected to a sealed cave. With supernatural forces closing in, Youmo realizes that some horrors are not just unseen, but are everywhere.

The film will carry influences from Eastern Taoist mysticism and the “Invisible Man mythos.”

This marks the first film that Mokster Films will produce, with the company focusing on international sales over the past year, representing titles like box office hit How to Make Millions Before Grandma Dies, Halabala and Lady Bee.

“With Phantom, I wanted to explore the terror of what we can’t see, not just as ghosts or monsters, but as the unseen forces in our society, our history and our own minds,” said director Hsi.

Mok added: “This film is about the fear that lingers in silence, in forgotten places, and in the systems we take for granted. By grounding the story in Taoist philosophy and historical trauma, we’re telling a horror that feels both intimate and unsettling.”
