France’s Alps-set Les Arcs Film Festival has unveiled Greece as its country of focus for its upcoming 17th edition, running from December 13 to 20.

Under the focus, the festival’s programming will showcase a selection of Greek films, alongside projects at different stages of development and production featured in the Industry Village.

The showcase comes at a buzzy time for the Greek cinema scene, both for its local industry and as well as a shooting destination.

The Les Arcs Industry Village will also host a delegation of professionals from the film industry, while the festival itself will welcome various film talents.

The focus is organized in partnership with the Hellenic Film & Audiovisual Centre – Creative Greece.

Les Arcs is enjoying a high-profile Cannes this year, having supported six films in Official Selection and the parallel sections this year.

They include buzzy Palme d’Or contender Sound of Falling by Mascha Schilinski, which participated in the Les Arcs – Work In Progress showcase in 2023.

Other past Les Arcs Industry Village participants include Sven Bresser’s psychological thriller Reedland in Critics’ Week, as well as Directors’ Fortnight titles Loynes by Dorian Jespers, The Girl in the Snow by Louise Hémon and The Girls We Want by Prïncia Car and ACID film A Light That Never Goes Out by Lauri-Matti Parppei.
