Immigration agents nabbed a Venezuelan migrant in Texas who is wanted in his home country for the murder-for-hire assassinations of four people, the feds said.

Anthony Fabian Marin La Torre, 42, was initially caught at the southern border in San Luis, Arizona, on Sept. 26, 2022 and released into the US, according to Immigration and Customs Enforcement.

Venezuelan authorities notified the US on Feb. 18 that Marin La Torre was on the run for killings back home, according to ICE.

ICE then took to the streets May 2 alongside three other federal agencies to collar Marin La Torre in the Dallas suburb of Grapevine.

Border agents likely didn’t come across Marin La Torre’s criminal history when he first entered the US because the Maduro regime wasn’t playing ball with the Biden administration and refused to respond to requests for criminal record checks.

At the time, border agents regularly released Venezuelan migrants who crossed the border illegally without having the ability to properly vet them.

That has all changed under the Trump administration, which was able to get the Venezuelan government to agree to accept deportation flights from the US and open law enforcement communication channels.

It’s not clear if Marin La Torre was a member of a gang like Tren de Aragua, which started in Venezuela’s prisons.

“This fugitive stands accused of some horrific crimes, further representing a threat in the communities of Texas that we will not tolerate,” said ICE Enforcement and Removal Operations Dallas acting Field Office Director Josh Johnson of the recent arrest.

“ICE Dallas will never relent in our priority of enhancing public safety and arresting and removing criminal alien threats from our streets,” Johnson added.

Marin La Torre is now awaiting a deportation order while in ICE detention.
