The BAFTA TV Awards is the UK’s biggest celebration of all things small screen — and the 2025 prize giving is expected to honor some major series on both sides of the Atlantic, with the likes of Baby Reindeer and Shōgun nominated.
The BAFTA TV Awards take place on Sunday, May 11, at London’s Royal Festival Hall on the banks of the River Thames. The ceremony gets underway at 5PM local time (9AM PST) and will last for three hours, with The Traitors host Alan Cumming presiding.
Like with all major BAFTA events, the ceremony will not be broadcast or streamed live. An edited version of the ceremony will screen on BBC One at 7PM local time, while it will also be available on demand on BritBox in the U.S., Canada, Australia, and the Nordics.
The awards will also screen in Australia on Foxtel, in New Zealand on Sky Arts, and in 24 countries across Africa and the Middle East on AlThaqafeya and MBC Channels. The Rewind Networks will show the event in 13 countries across Asia, while P&O Cruises — which sponsors the awards — will make the ceremony available on seven ships.
BAFTA will stream red carpet coverage on YouTube, with comedians Suzi Ruffell and Tom Allen conducting interviews. Charley Marlowe will host BAFTA’s TikTok output.
Nominees expected to attend the BAFTA TV Awards include Billie Piper, Damian Lewis, Danny Dyer, Hiroyuki Sanada, Jessica Gunning, Lennie James, Martin Freeman, and Richard Gadd. Other guests include Andy Serkis, James Corden, and Louis Theroux.
