Los Angeles County officials removed several homeless encampments in Woodland Hills and Beverly Grove, where more than 30 people lived.

The efforts were a part of the county’s Inside Safe operation, a program designed to help homeless residents get off the streets and into housing.

The Woodland Hills encampment was located in front of Warner Center Park. The two Beverly Grove encampments were located among businesses, an assisted living facility and local residences.

Photos from the operations showed county workers helping the homeless residents gather their belongings before they were transported by bus into interim housing.

“Every unhoused person we get off the streets and into interim housing and services is a step forward, and I’m grateful to all our partners for their efforts,” said L.A. County councilmember Bob Blumenfield.

Since the program debuted in December 2022, Inside Safe has moved 4,037 homeless residents off the streets. Around 905 residents have moved into permanent housing and 86 encampments have been addressed.

“Public spaces where neighbors gather exemplify the spirit of our city coming together,” said L.A. Mayor Karen Bass. “By connecting people living on the streets or in parks with secure housing and supportive services, we ensure the health and well-being of all residents and the community as a whole.”

More information about the county’s Inside Safe program can be found here.
