The Mets defeated the Cubs 7-2 on Friday night. The scoring got going immediately for New York as Francisco Lindor led off the bottom of the first with a solo home run. One inning later, Brett Baty made it 2-0 with his solo shot, followed quickly by a Jeff McNeil homer to make it 3-0 Mets.
Two more Mets would score in the third on a throwing error, making it 5-0 Mets at that point.
The Cubs managed to finally score in the top of the fourth with a Kyle Tucker homer, but it was too little, too late.
On Saturday, Chicago sends Brad Keller (0-0, 3.78 ERA) to the mound to face Tylor Megill (3-2, 2.50 ERA). Keller hasn’t allowed a run in his last three appearances. Can he help get the Cubs back on track after Friday’s blowout loss?
