The Hurricanes took Game 1 in overtime before the Capitals stormed back in Game 2, tying the series with a 3-1 win. The series now heads to Carolina, as the Hurricanes try to bounce back and reclaim the upper hand.
Jaccob Slavin was the hero in Game 1, scoring the game-winning goal just over three minutes into overtime. As a defenseman, Slavin only scored six goals during the regular season, but came through in the biggest moment, when his team needed it the most. Sebastian Aho has yet to really get things going with only one assist so far in the series. He needs to step up here in Game 3.
The NHL’s all-time leading scorer, Alex Ovechkin, has not scored yet through two games, which might be a sign he will tonight. He scored four goals in five games during the opening round of the postseason, making this a get right spot for the future first ballot Hall of Famer.
This is a great NHL Playoff matchup that will not disappoint; make sure to tune in and catch all the action.
