Brain Dead, the Los Angeles-based creative collective, has collaborated with SOUTH2 WEST8, a Japanese brand specializing in outdoor and fishing-inspired wear. This joint release represents the first collaborative effort between the two distinct brands.
In a freshly unveiled campaign, SOUTH2 WEST8’s functional and nature-centric design philosophy is fully blended with Brain Dead’s playful and disruptive aesthetic. Naturally, the collection highlights designs that embody this fusion. It includes lightweight, breathable and weather-repellent finishes, all incorporated into fishing vests, jackets and accessories.
SOUTH2 WEST8’s iconic Tenkara Jacket receives a Brain Dead update with a custom P200 Hybrid/Aero Tempest Camo print. Similarly, the popular Belted Center Seam “Fishing Pant” is also reimagined is injected with Brain Dead’s signature visual language and embroidered patches. Another notable highlight is the foldable sunglasses, which feature glare shields and polarized lenses as a homage to SOUTH2 WEST8’s fishing heritage. Meanwhile, Brain Dead’s unique stylistic touches can also be spotted in the design.
This capsule collection will be available via Brain Dead’s online and offline stores starting May 9, 10 a.m. PT.
