EXCLUSIVE: Fandango Sales has appointed former The Match Factory exec Laura Nacher as Head of International Sales.
The appointment comes as the sales arm of Rome-based film company Fandango gears up for a major international push.
Nacher, who was previously Head of Sale Operations at The Match Factory, brings more than 12 years of experience in the international film sales sector.
She will make her first market outing with the company at the Cannes Film Festival’s Marché du Film this month, where it will present a first promo of Francesca Archibugi’s new film Illusion to buyers.
Nacher will report directly to Raffaella Di Giulio, Managing Director of Fandango Sales and founder of Fandango Sales Portobello. Di Giulio will continue to oversee all sales and acquisitions activities, while also contributing to the company’s co-production strategy.
“I’m very excited for Laura to join the Fandango Sales team—and more broadly, the Fandango family. I’m confident her arrival will bring great energy to our sales division and allow us to broaden our lineup, as well as deepen our collaborations with both Italian and international production companies,” said Di Giulio.
This strategic move marks a new chapter for Fandango Sales as it strengthens its commitment to championing independent Italian cinema at the same time as expanding its slate with international projects, either via co-productions or sales acquisitions.
Nacher’s track record includes working on titles from award-winning Italian auteurs such as Marco Bellocchio and Alice Rohrwacher, as well as high-profile international and nominated films including Drive My Car, Close, Perfect Days, Priscilla, and The Substance.
“I’m truly excited to join Fandango, a company that has proudly maintained its independence for over three decades,” said Nacher. “Its commitment to strong artistic values is what first drew me to it, and I hope to bring my experience while staying true to that spirit. I’m also delighted to be working with Raffaella again—our paths first crossed more than 12 years ago on Mia Madre by Nanni Moretti, and it feels like a full-circle moment.”
Primarily known as a production company, Fandango also includes divisions in Italian distribution, international sales, and book publishing. This integrated structure enables the company to offer filmmakers a tailored, end-to-end approach—from development and co-production to sales and domestic distribution.
Fandango founded and led by producer Domenico Procacci is best known internationally for producing Moretti’s films and hit TV Show, My Brillant Friend.
