Panda Express is mixing music and meals with a new karaoke pop-up experience called “Pandaoke,” which will launch in select cities in celebration of Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month.
The fast-casual chain announced the Pandaoke event as an extension of its latest brand campaign, “Have You Eaten Yet?”
The limited-time experience will bring karaoke booths to four Panda Express locations across the country, starting in Los Angeles before heading to Nashville, Chicago, and Austin.
Each Pandaoke location will feature a 7-foot-tall karaoke takeout box where groups of two to three guests can perform 30-second renditions of feel-good hits, according to a news release. Sessions will be recorded and emailed to participants as a keepsake. The booth will operate from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. local time during each city’s scheduled dates.
Guests who purchase a Panda Family Meal during event days will also receive a free Pandaoke Kit, while supplies last.
Pandaoke tour dates and locations:
- May 9–11: Los Angeles, 2828 S. Figueroa St.
- May 23–25: Nashville, 6601 Charlotte Pike
- May 30–June 1: Chicago, 2949 W. Addison St.
- June 6–8: Austin, 5764 Airport Blvd.
“At Panda, we often ask a simple yet meaningful question: ‘Have you eaten yet?’ – a phrase that expresses care in so many cultures,” Andrea Cherng, chief brand officer at Panda Express, said in a statement. “From day one, providing our guests with comfort through flavorful dishes and a welcoming experience has been at the heart of what we do. Now, with Pandaoke, we’re bringing this same spirit of comfort and connection to life in a new, joyful way – through delicious food, lively music, and shared moments that turn meals into memories.”
