Former Pakistani diplomat says US intervention might be needed
Maleeha Lodhi, Pakistan’s former ambassador to the United States, said that the situation cannot be allowed to escalate further.
“The situation now needs to be controlled as further escalation in a nuclear environment is fraught with great risks,” Lodhi told Haroon Janjua, DW’s reporter in Islamabad.
She added Washington might intervene “to prevent that, as past crises between India and Pakistan have always been defused by the US.”
Qamar Cheema, a security analyst, told DW that India had “failed to give any evidence to international community” that the attack was warranted.
