9-1-1 viewers are still recovering from the loss of Peter Krause’s Captain Bobby Nash, and Ryan Guzman is fueling rumors he might be next to go.
Fans of the ABC first-responders series are speculating on social media that Guzman could be leaving the series at the end of Season 8, and the actor’s latest Instagram Stories further fueled the conspiracy theories.
Guzman posted on the Fox lot, saying it was his last day and would miss Stage 6, where the show is filmed.
“Well, it officially happened. It’s the last day on this lot,” Guzman said while showing the plaque of all the productions that have filmed on Stage 6 on the Fox lot. “9-1-1 — part of the legacy. Stage 6, I’ll miss ya. Seven years. That’s crazy.”
9-1-1 has filmed on Stage 6 since its premiere on Fox in 2017. The show has been on for eight seasons, but Guzman has only been on it for seven of them, joining in Season 2.
In a second Instagram Stories post, Guzman captioned, “Had a moment reflecting on moments. Grateful. Thank you, God.”
“Welp, guys, Season 8, in the bag. That’s it. No more Fox lot,” Guzman says. “Eddie Diaz, signing out.”
Guzman is seemingly leaning into the conspiracy theories on social media that he is leaving. According to sources, Guzman is expected to continue with the ABC drama and is not leaving.
Rumors that Guzman might be exiting 9-1-1 started after the story arc of his character Eddie Diaz moved to Texas to be closer to his son Christopher. Eddie, living in Texas, has not affected Guzman’s time on screen. Despite the show being based in Los Angeles, Guzman has continued to appear in the series, with Eddie continuing to fortify his bond with his son. Eddie also returned to L.A. in the show’s latest episode for Bobby’s funeral.
