Originally debuted at Willy Chavarria‘s FW25 show during Paris Fashion Week, official release details and photos have emerged about the designer’s take on the 1978-born Jabbar Low. Arriving this week, the reimagined Jabbar Dress Lo adapts the retro basketball silhouette with a dress shoe sensibility, drawing from the Mexican-American designer’s signature tailored sportswear.
The Jabbar Dress Lo is one of the more discreet entries into the hybrid sneaker trend, which has led to numerous sneaker releases boasting formal details, including the New Balance 1906L and the Engineered Garments x Reebok Instapump Fury 94 Brogue. Arriving in two classic colorways of black and off-white this Friday, the design is largely faithful to the original Jabbar Low, however, the silhouette has been slimmed out towards the toe box and the midsole, imbuing the model with an elevated character. Additionally, the all-leather uppers are joined by an elegant suede overlay at the toe-box.
In addition to a special Willy Chavarria x adidas emblem on the tongue patch, minimal callouts to Willy and Kareem are featured in gold text on the lateral sides of the shoes.
