Her blue carpet ensemble was the star of the show, sure, but let’s not overlook Rihanna’s Met Gala after party look—her third and final look on this first Monday in May.
To recap, Rihanna started the evening with a casual pregnancy reveal outside the Carlyle Hotel, wearing a two-piece gray ribbed skirt and tee set, ahead of getting ready for the big event. Then, when Rihanna finally arrived at the gala, she exemplified the Tailored for You dress code in an avant-garde suit dress that combined a cropped blazer with a waistcoat/corset bodice and another suit jacket transformed into a floor-length skirt.
Then, it was time to change into the after party look.
For the final leg of Met Gala festivities, Rihanna attended the A$AP Rocky x Ray Ban Met Gala After Party in belly-baring black lace, leather, and satin. RiRi’s multi-part ‘fit started with a low-rise, slim-fitting silk skirt that laced up the sides, which matched the detail on her floral, black-lace Louboutins. On top, Rihanna wore a take on a leather waistcoat—still in keeping with the Tailored theme—featuring a lacy ruffled detail around the neck and tied in the front, layered under a cropped, boxy black blazer. For finishing touches, the Fenty-founder wore a black lace do-rag with her hair in a long braid, and a stunning diamond and sapphire necklace to go with her earrings and oversized cocktail rings.
There was never any doubt that Rihanna was going to pull out all the stops for the Met Gala 2025; for a few reasons. For one thing, when has Rihanna ever not served at the Met Gala? For another, Rihanna’s partner and father of her two (soon to be three) children, A$AP Rocky, was one of the evening’s co-chairs. The only real questions is this: Was Rihanna’s Met Gala after party look her best of the evening? Her pre-gala pregnancy-reveal look? Or does the glory all belong to the main event on the blue carpet?
