EXCLUSIVE: Film Seekers has boarded indie flick Bad Haircut from filmmaker Kyle Misak and will launch sales at the upcoming Cannes Market.
The film follows Billy, a socially awkward college student who hits rock bottom after a humiliating encounter at a party.
The synopsis reads: Billy’s two closest friends decide it’s time for him to get a new look and take him to their barber, the wildly eccentric and possibly deranged Mick. What starts as a simple haircut quickly spirals into a surreal nightmare. Trapped in a barbershop turned battleground, Billy is forced to confront more than just his insecurities.
Bad Haircut stars Spencer Harrison Levin as Billy and Frankie Ray as Mick. The supporting cast includes TikToker Nora Freetly, Martin Klebba (Pirates of the Caribbean), Jake Busey (Starship Troopers), Mindy Sterling (Austin Powers), Larry Hankin (Friends), and Kevin Dunn.
“We’re thrilled to introduce Bad Haircut to the international market,” said Ethan Cross, sales and acquisitions executive at Film Seekers. “It’s a wildly original, darkly comedic thrill ride featuring a maverick performance from Frankie Ray. With its sharp wit, unexpected twists, and a bold creative vision, we’re confident it will strike a chord with distributors and Gen-Z audiences alike.”
The film is produced by Jon Petro, Jesse Charles, and Kyle Misak for Throwback Pictures and is executive produced by Adam Renaud.
Misak added: “My team and I are thrilled to be partnering with Film Seekers to represent Bad Haircut. Their reputation precedes them, and we feel very fortunate to have found a company that believes in the film and understands the vision for it. We are excited to launch the movie into the world with the hopes of entertaining audiences everywhere.”
