This spring’s Costume Institute exhibition is titled “Superfine: Tailoring Black Style,” and the A-list invitees were presented with the dress code Tailored for You ahead of the event. The exhibit integrates fashion and several other artistic mediums for a thorough examination of the concept of Black dandyism, with a special emphasis on menswear and precision tailoring.
For her 2025 Met Gala look, Kardashian donned a dramatic black two-piece look from Chrome Hearts, featuring asymmetrical shoulder details on the top, an allover embossed alligator print, and a train trailing close to her ankles. The look was accented with silver chains attached at her hip, heavy diamond chokers, and a hat whose brim swooped down to cover one eye.
Kardashian has sported showstopping looks over the years, such as an archival dress famously worn by Marilyn Monroe; an all-black Balenciaga ensemble covering her from head to toe, including her face; and last year’s corset from Maison Margiela Artisanal by John Galliano—so wasp-waisted that she commented that breathing while wearing it was “an art form.”
