Where to Buy: New Balance

As the US President’s sweeping tariffs bring on-shore American manufacturing to the fore of fashion sourcing discourse, New Balance has its own muscle to flex – and they’ve already been doing it for years. Unlike other sneaker purveyors like adidas and Nike, New Balance has already established a substantial line of US-manufactured goods, which is even heftier with a new trio of 993 colorways.

Originally introduced in 2008, the model combines design details of the 991 and the 992 with a simplified casual upper construction. Arriving today, the Made in USA edition of the shoe is available in a trio of classic colors: Covert Green/Gray, Incense/Gray, and White/Gray. However, the neutral palette lends itself well to the pared-back design, which omits the busy synthetic overlays found in other early-aughts designs. Like the 991 and the 992, the 993 also features the brand’s comfortable ABZORB soles in a duotone palette.

The release aligns with another recently unveiled trio of  1906Rs, which arrived in a similar palette of gray, tan, and olive brown. However, for the more performance-oriented design, the label opted for a monochromatic treatment, emphasizing the model’s futuristic appeal. The label’s Made in USA range utilizes premium materials that are worked upon by American factories, boosting quality and putting craftsmanship first. Along with Made in USA ranges, the footwear brand has also introduced a robust Made in UK and Made in Japan.

The New Balance Made in USA 993 in Covert Green/Gray, Incense/Gray, and White/Gray are out now at the brand’s web store and select retailers.
