A suspected child predator was arrested in a Riverside County investigation involving a 13-year-old girl.
The suspect was identified as Scott Marin, 43, of Moreno Valley, according to the Riverside County Sheriff’s Office.
Earlier this month, detectives from the Perris station identified Marin as a suspect who had allegedly been communicating inappropriately with a young girl.
While investigating, deputies said Marin had asked the girl for numerous sex acts while requesting “sexually gratifying pictures.” He eventually agreed to meet with the girl in person.
On April 25, deputies located Marin leaving a Moreno Valley home, where he was taken into custody. During his arrest, deputies collected several communication devices as evidence.
He was arrested for arranging to meet a minor with the intent of sexual acts, contacting a minor with the intent to commit sexual acts, exhibiting, and sending harmful material to a minor, and attempting lewd acts with a minor. He is being held on a $55,000 bail.
Investigators did not reveal details on how the suspect first connected with the victim.
Anyone with additional information on the case is asked to call Deputy Hartert at the Perris Sheriff’s Station at 951-210–1000.
