Bill Belichick’s girlfriend Jordon Hudson, 24, is going viral after temporarily pausing a CBS interview over a question she didn’t want answered.
The former New England Patriots coach, 73, sat down with Tony Dokoupil on CBS News’ Sunday Morning to promote his new biography, The Art of Winning: Lessons from My Life in Football, when he was asked about how he and Hudson met.
Newsweek reached out to Hudson, who is listed as Belichick’s personal assistant, via email for comment.
The Context
Sunday Morning is a talk show hosted by Jane Pauley that recaps the day’s news, before often transitioning to feel-good pieces on performing arts, pop culture and more. The program began in 1979.
Belichick led the Patriots to six Super Bowl victories with Tom Brady as quarterback during his 24 seasons with the NFL team. In December, he was announced as the head football coach at the University of North Carolina (UNC).
“This is an exciting day for Carolina football and our university,” Chancellor Lee H. Roberts said at the time, per Belichick’s bio on UNC’s official athletics website. “Carolina is committed to excellence and to creating an opportunity to succeed in everything we do, from the classroom to the field of competition. I know after speaking with Coach Belichick that he shares that commitment. His legacy speaks for itself, and we look forward to working together on the next chapter of Carolina football.”
Belichick and Hudson first sparked relationship rumors in 2023 when they were spotted together on several occasions. TMZ was first to report they were dating in June 2024 following his split from Lindsay Holliday, his wife of 16 years. The couple has a 48-year age gap, which has raised eyebrows and drawn criticism.
What To Know
Hudson accompanied Belichick to the Sunday Morning interview and spoke on his behalf when Dokoupil asked, “How did you guys meet?”
“We’re not talking about this,” Hudson said.
“No?” Dokoupil asked.
“No,” she confirmed.
On the program, Dokoupil said, “Jordon was a constant presence during our interview” and noted “neither one of them” was “comfortable” discussing the topic.
Dokoupil added that “everybody in the world seems to be following this relationship,” despite it having “nothing to do with them” and asked Belichick how he deals with that.
“I’ve never been too worried about what everybody else thinks,” the author said. “Just try to do what I feel like is best for me and what’s right.”
Collin Rugg, co-owner of the conservative news site Trending Politics, took to X, formerly Twitter, to share a clip of the moment.
“Bill Belichick’s 24-year-old girlfriend Jordon Hudson interjects & shuts down a question during the middle of an interview on CBS,” Rugg wrote. “This is wild.”
At the time of publication, the post racked up more than 4.7 million views.

In February, Hudson appeared to defend her romance with the NFL legend in a lengthy message shared to Instagram.
“‘What constitutes love?’ or ‘what makes someone worthy of loving?’ are questions that require a deep analysis and could possibly enable one to understand the romances that they may not understand nor relate to,” she wrote on Valentine’s Day. “With such a limited character count, I cannot dissect nor comprehensively answer these questions, but I will exclaim a few basic concepts.”
“We do not need to justify ‘why’ we love a particular person,” the former cheerleader said, adding, “Love does not discriminate against sex, skin-color, religion, age, or ability.”
It was recently revealed that Hudson is copied in on Belichick’s UNC emails. Because the university is public, his communications are public records.
Earlier this month, Matt Baker of TheAthletic.com “obtained emails sent and received by Hudson,” NBC Sports reported.
Baker found that Hudson is listed as the chief operating officer of Belichick Productions in her signature. There was also an email exchange with her and Belichick about backlash they received over the ager gap on the UNC Football page, with Belichick saying, “I cannot believe that UNC would support my being called a ‘predator.’” In a separate email, Hudson defended his son, Steve Belichick—who is UNC’s defensive coordinator—against nepotism concerns.
What People Are Saying
Barstool Sports founder Dave Portnoy wrote on X of the Sunday Morning interview: “My Sunday morning routine is always coffee and CBS Sunday Morning. It’s a feel good show. The opposite of controversial. So image my surprise this morning when they had the most awkward Bill Belichick interview I’ve ever seen. Like I was squirming in my seat.” His remark garnered 7.7 million views.
English broadcaster Piers Morgan reposted Portnoy’s note via X and said: “It was utterly excruciating. Mr Belichick needs a family or friend intervention asap.” His note had an additional one million views.
