The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame has announced its 2025 class of inductees, and it includes seminal hip-hop duo OutKast, “Girls Just Want to Have Fun” singer Cyndi Lauper and leading indie rock band The White Stripes.

The Performer Category inductee class also includes English rock supergroup Bad Company, “King of the Twist” Chubby Checker, English rock-blues singer Joe Cocker and grunge band Soundgarden.

Meanwhile, other inductees made it into the Hall via special committee categories, including the Musical Influence Award, which honors hip-hop group Salt-N-Pepa and singer-songwriter Warren Zevon. The Musical Excellence Award was bestowed upon Thom Bell, Nicky Hopkins and Carol Kaye, while the Ahmet Ertegun Award (in honor of the Atlantic Records co-founder) was given to Lenny Waronker.

“Each of these inductees created their own sound and attitude that had a profound impact on culture and helped to change the course of Rock & Roll forever,” John Sykes, chairman of the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, said in a statement. “Their music gave a voice to generations and influenced countless artists that followed in their footsteps.”

The announcement was made live on ABC by American Idol‘s Ryan Seacrest during a Rock & Roll Hall of Fame-themed episode, where the Top 14 finalists paid homage with songs from legendary past inductees as the nation voted to eliminate two contestants. (The episode will stream tomorrow on Hulu.)

To be eligible for induction, an individual artist or band must have released its first commercial recording at least 25 years prior to the year of nomination. Chubby Checker, Joe Cocker, Bad Company and OutKast are first-time nominees, whereas Cyndi Lauper, Soundgarden and The White Stripes have all been nominated before.

In February, the Hall Foundation announced its nominee class, which included Mariah Carey, Billy Idol, Joy Division/New Order and Phish.

The 2025 Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Induction will take place Nov. 8 at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles and be streamed live on Disney+, with a special airing on ABC at a later date and available on Hulu the next day.
