Kennedy scion Jack Schlossberg has been going on a wild social media tirade against the upcoming Met Gala, even claiming he’s going to boycott to the event — though he was not on the list anyway, we hear.
A source tells Page Six, he was not even invited to the glamorous fete, known as the “Oscars of fashion.”
Schlossberg — the outspoken son of Caroline Kennedy and grandson of JFK — formerly worked for Vogue during the 2024 election, and attended the gala in 2017 with his mother.
“I am boycotting the Met Gala this year,” he said in one post. “With so much happening at home and around the world, it’s not the time, it’s not the time for a party like that — at least for me.”
A source tells Page Six however, that Schlossberg — who is known for his eccentric Internet posts — did not receive an invite to this year’s gala — and has not in the past.
We are told he attended as his mother’s plus one.
We hear the non-invitation isn’t a diss to the former Vogue freelancer, but that there is no reason he would make the cut for the exclusive list, unless he was invited by a designer, brand or chair.
“The Met Gala is a fundraiser where every single seat is paid for by a designer or a brand and the only way to get invited is by having that brand or designer extend you a seat at their table,” another source familiar with the workings of the event tells us. “He was a freelancer who had an assignment covering the election, that’s certainly not a reason for him to attend.”
Still, that hasn’t stopped Schlossberg from sounding off on his former employer.
As of publication, Schlossberg had posted nine times on his Instagram grid about his “boycott,” including one shot in which he rowed off on a paddle board.
This year’s event, taking place at the Metropolitan Museum of Art and benefiting the the Costume Institute, is themed “Superfine: Tailoring Black Style.”
“Fashion is political — so then why is Vogue so quiet?!” he wrote in another post. “Vogue shouldn’t be so scared of my boycott of the Met Gala they should focus on issues and use their platform to take a stand. Corporate interests often succeed in making fashion less attractive and relevant. Boycott.”
He also used his so-called boycott as a way to plug an upcoming project.
“Instead I will produce something informative on my own news channel,” he said in another post.
Those who are invited to this year’s fete are Doechii, Shakira, Lizzo, Mary J. Blige, and models Amelia Gray and Ashley Graham, a source previously told Page Six.
Colman Domingo, Lewis Hamilton, A$AP Rocky and Pharrell Williams will co-chair. A source tells Page Six Lauryn Hill has been invited by the “Happy,” singer.
Basketball legend LeBron James is serving as an honorary chair.
