The third round of the NFL Draft has come and gone, and many high profile names such as Shedeur Sanders are still on the board.
There was no shortage of twists and turns either, with some surprising quarterbacks going ahead of the pack, while other teams hit their needs on the head in later rounds when they least expected it.
With that in mind, let’s take a look at our choices for the best and worst picks from Round 3 of the 2025 NFL Draft.
Best Picks
Shevon Revel Jr., CB, East Carolina – Dallas Cowboys
With pick No. 76 overall in the third round the Cowboys could have gone running back or potentially wide receiver, which were major needs going into the draft. Instead, the Cowboys got a steal with cornerback Shavon Revel Jr., landing a first-round talent in Round 3. Revel slipped due to a knee injury he suffered in October, but is a big-bodied and athletic corner who could play right away in Dallas and make a difference.
Harrold Fannin Jr, TE, Bowling Green – Cleveland Browns
The Cleveland Browns needed a lot in the 2025 NFL Draft, and could have gone in any direction. Though quarterback is still a major need – and with Sanders still on the board – the Browns elected to go with their second offensive weapon of Day 2 with Harold Fannin Jr. He is the first tight end in college football history to lead the nation in receptions in receiving yards, and will be an instant impact player for the Browns.
Savion Willians, WR, TCU – Green Bay Packers
The Packers already got one weapon for Jordan Love in the first round with Matthew Golden. Now, they have two elite options. Savion Williams is an athletic specimen and a huge target on the outside at 6-foot-4, 222 pounds and he can fly down the field with his speed. He is a steal at this point for Green Bay which will now have a legit pair of talented pass-catchers for years to come.
Worst Picks
Dillon Gabriel, QB, Oregon – Cleveland Browns
Shedeuer Sanders, Quinn Ewers and Kyle McCord were all still on the board for Cleveland to find their quarterback of the future. Instead, the Browns elected to go with an undersized Dillon Gabriel out of Oregon, who while productive in Eugene, does not have the elite tools to succeed as a starter at the position.
Isaac TeSlaa, WR, Arkansas – Detroit Lions
Isaac TeSlaa was an interesting pick for the Lions. The talent and athleticism is certainly, but in terms of production, he struggled with the Razorbacks. If the Lions can tap that potential this could be a solid pick, but as of now, it stands as a questionable on this high in Round 3.
Princely Umanmielen, edge, Ole Miss – Carolina Panthers
Princely Umanmielen is a talented edge rusher, there is no doubt about that. He had 10.5 sacks at Ole Miss to prove it. That said, what makes this pick questionable is the fact that they also picked an arguably superior edge rusher in Round 2 with Nic Scourton. He could make an impact for Carolina but will have to put on some weight for that to happen at 244 pounds.
