Deadline’s Sound & Screen Television Tunes Up For 2025 Edition With ‘Severance’, ‘The Last Of Us’, ‘Squid Game’, ‘LOTR’ & More

Deadline has unveiled the lineup of shows and musical talent that will take part in Sound & Screen Television, the annual TV music showcase that will take place Wednesday, May 7 at UCLA’s Royce Hall.

A total of 11 series will take part in the evening, which spotlights the composers and the music behind the year’s most talked-about shows who perform their works for Academy and guild voters with the help of a 60-piece orchestra.

This year’s composer lineup includes The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power‘s Bear McCreary and The Boys‘ Christopher Lennertz and Matt Bowen From Prime Video; The Penguin‘s Mick Giacchino and The Last of Us‘ Gustavo Santaolalla and David Fleming from HBO|Max; Severance‘s Theodore Shapiro and Shrinking‘s Tom Howe from Apple TV+; Long Bright River‘s Dimitri Smith and James Poyser for Sony Pictures Television & Peacock; Squid Game‘s Jung Jaeil and Arcane‘s Alex Seaver for Netflix; and virtual appearances by Paradise‘s Siddhartha Khosla for Hulu and The Day of the Jackal‘s Volker Bertelmann for Peacock.

The evening includes a guild-only reception beginning at 5 p.m. PT, with doors opening at 6 p.m. and the show starting at 6:30 p.m. Deadline will provide full panel coverage the next day and launch the event’s streaming site Friday, May 9.

Sound & Screen Television is the latest in Deadline’s lineup of awards-season events, coming after our 27-show Contenders Television showcase April 5-6 and Contenders Television: Documentary, Unscripted & Variety, the virtual livestream event that takes place Saturday.

Sound & Screen Television is done in partnership with the Society of Composers & Lyricists, ASCAP, SESAC, BMI, the Composers Diversity Collective and Global Music Rights. The product partner is Saratoga Spring Water.
