Alyssa Farah Griffin called out Whoopi Goldberg‘s hypocrisy on this morning’s episode of The View, accusing the longtime moderator of having a different reaction to a proposal from President Donald Trump than she would if former president Joe Biden supported the same policy.

Goldberg kicked off the episode by saying she felt “insulted” by Trump’s plan to give new mothers $5,000 to help boost birth rates in the United States.

“I am incredibly insulted by this because clearly they don’t know how women’s bodies work and they don’t know what it costs to raise a child or just have a child,” she said. “I don’t know what $5,000 is supposed to do.”

Griffin, on the other hand, said she “supports this policy,” noting that the money can go toward “out-of-pocket” hospital costs and even a savings account for the child. She also argued that gay couples and adoptive parents should receive the same kind of assistance.

“Isn’t something better than nothing?” Griffin asked, to which Goldberg fired back, “No! Not in this case.”

That’s when Griffin claimed her Democratic co-hosts would’ve had a different reaction if Biden had proposed the incentive first.

“I feel like if Biden proposed this we would all be saying it’s groundbreaking and a great idea,” she said.

However, Goldberg stood her ground, telling Griffin, “I don’t like the idea that somebody is saying, ‘I’m gonna pay you to have more kids.’ I know we’re not allowed to bring up the other times people suggested that but I will tell you this is not the first time in the country.”

Sunny Hostin then added, “It feels very Handmaid’s Tale.“

Goldberg went on to list the different programs the Trump administration has slashed since he came into office earlier this year. According to the comedian, he cut “$1 billion in funding for schools and food banks” and “fired staff running a program to help low-income households pay their heating and cooling bills.”

“It seems to be that everything this administration seems to be doing is telling people not to have children,” she said. “Why not make sure that kids we already have have a shot at good schooling? If you want people to have children, you have to not scare them by cutting all these programs that they may need.”

The View airs on weekdays at 11/10c on ABC.
