EXCLUSIVE: George Levendis and Levente Málnay will both receive the North Star Award as part of the inaugural NATPE Honors Europe.
Levendis is the former Syco exec who is now MD of Greece’s Antenna Studios and broadcasters ANT1 and Mak TV. Málnay is MD and EVP at AMC Networks International & CEE.
The North Star Award they will both receive is part of NATPE Honors Europe, a new set of Central & Eastern Europe-focused awards. The honors will be given at the upcoming NATPE Budapest event.
The North Star Award is, NATPE said, for leaders who have had a bar-raising impact. Other categories include The Shift Disturber Award for execs who are driving transformative change.

Daniel Grunt, Nova Group CEO, lands the accolade for work on the Voyo streaming and on-demand platform. The other recipient is Mag Entertainment’s Magdalena Szwedkowicz, for making Polish-produced hits including Forgotten Love (Znachor) and SkyShowtime breakout Sleboda (Deadly Ties).
The Cause + Action Award, recognizing social impact goes to Starlight Media, Ukraine’s largest broadcasting group for its work amplifying the voice of veterans, including putting a war vet in the most recent edition of The Bachelor.
The NATPE Honors Europe Awards will become an annual tradition, the Brunico-owned org said.
“After an incredibly successful launch of the awards at NATPE Global in Miami this February, it was clear that we needed to recognize outstanding leadership in the CEE region,” said NATPE’s Executive Director Claire Macdonald.
She added: “These recipients inspire us with their bold ideas and unwavering commitment to excellence, and we’re thrilled to recognize their impact in Budapest.”
