Feid is in his element at the COLORS studio. The Colombian artist took over the vibrant arena for his performance debut against a tinted backdrop in his signature green hue. After closing the European leg of his “Fastest Tour,” FERXXO steps into a new era by debuting the first single off his next record, “PIDA LO QUE QUIERA MAMI.”

While teasing the song earlier this year, FERXXO gives fans the first official listen with an intimate and bold live performance on COLORS. “I chose “PIDA LO QUE QUIERA MAMI” because I feel like it captures my essence as an artist and what fans can expect next from me,” he tells Hypebeast.

We sat down with Feid to learn more about his COLORS performance, his connection with his fans, and what we can expect from him next.

Hypebeast: Feid, your COLORS performance of “PIDA LO QUE QUIERA MAMI” was captivating. How did that experience feel for you, and what made you choose this particular song for such a special show?

“This was such a cool opportunity for me. I chose “PIDA LO QUE QUIERA MAMI” because I feel like it captures my essence as an artist and what fans can expect next from me. Performing it in such an intimate setting, where the song is really the focus, made it super special. I loved being able to connect with the song in that way.”

If you had to describe this new chapter in your artistic journey in five words, what would they be?

“Personal, roots, authentic, morning, and fans.”

During your COLORS performance, the green backdrop really stood out. How important are visual elements like this in your live shows, and what do they add to the overall experience?

“Visuals are super important to me, especially when it comes to my live shows. I feel like they bring so much personality to the experience – whether it’s the show itself or the project as a whole. I’m always thinking about the visual elements while I’m creating, because they help build an entire world around the music and really immerse the fan in it.”

Your sound blends reggaeton, trap, and pop with ease. How would you describe the evolution of your music over the years, and where do you feel you are creatively at this point in your career?

“I feel like my music has definitely evolved over the years and really reflects what I’m listening to or what resonates with me most in that moment – kind of like what era I’m in creatively. Right now, I think I’m at a point in my career where I’ve been thinking a lot about the beginning, when I was just starting out in this industry, and going back to those roots that really started it all.”

There’s always a sense of sensuality to your music, but it’s also deeply emotional. How do you strike the right balance between these two elements in your songwriting and live shows?

“I think we find that balance because it’s real life. In everyday moments, you can feel sensual and emotional at the same time. That’s just part of being human. For me, both of those elements are a natural part of who I am, so they show up in my music in a genuine way.”

Are there any upcoming projects, singles, or collaborations we should keep an eye out for? What can fans expect from you in the next few months?

“There’s a lot of stuff coming. I’ve been working on new music, some special collaborations, and a project that means a lot to me personally. This next chapter really dives into who I am right now, both musically and personally. The new project captures that – it’s intimate, reflective, but still has that energy people know me for. I can’t share too many details yet, but fans can definitely expect a few unexpected moves. It’s going to be a big year.”

You often reference your Colombian roots in your music. How do you stay grounded in your cultural heritage while experimenting with different sounds and pushing your creative boundaries?

“My Colombian roots are everything to me. It’s easy to stay grounded in them because, first of all, it’s who I am – but also because I’m constantly surrounded by people and things that reflect my culture. Whether it’s the food I eat or the music I listen to, I carry that with me wherever I go and in everything I do. So when I’m being creative and experimenting with new sounds or genres, I’m always thinking about how to make it feel authentic.”

In terms of your upcoming album, are there any new sounds or directions that fans might not expect from you? Is there a genre or style that’s been calling your name lately?

“I don’t want to give away too much, but I definitely suggest everyone keep an eye out for some easter eggs out there. Everything that’s coming is really for the Day 1 fans. I’ve been reminiscing a lot about the early days of my career, so I hope they feel that and connect with what’s next.”

Your style has always been unique and iconic. How would you describe your personal fashion and how does it influence the way you approach your music and overall creative expression?

“I actually style myself most of the time. It’s one of my favorite ways to express myself outside of music. Of course, we always have to throw in a signature green, some glasses, a hat. But more than anything, it’s about being myself and feeling confident. That’s what matters most to me. When I feel good in what I’m wearing, it shows in my attitude, in how I carry myself, and in my music too.”

In your COLORS performance, there was an incredible sense of ease, yet you also maintained a deep connection with the audience. How do you mentally and emotionally prepare for a show that requires both confidence and intimacy?

“I’m lucky because I feel like I have a really special connection with my fans, so it’s easy to feel that closeness to them. When it comes to confidence, it’s all about making sure I feel good – whether that’s having a clean fit on, loving the song I chose, or being happy with the visuals we created. When all of that feels aligned, it gives me a sense of peace and lets me just be present in the moment.”
