NYC gets summery springtime Saturday — warmest day so far of 2025

The Big Apple is finally launching into spring.

The sun will set the metro area on fire Saturday, reaching a sunburn-inducing 83-degree high — marking the warmest day this year so far.

“That’s about 20 degrees above average of where we should be. Our average is usually 63,” Marissa Lautenbacher, a Fox Weather meteorologist, told The Post.

Despite the attention-getting temps, the burst in warm weather doesn’t beat the record for the day, which was set in 1976 when the metro area turned in a 92-degree sauna.

It is, however, the warmest day so far in 2025, slightly edging beyond the 81-degree day in March that inspired New Yorkers to temporarily ditch their parkas for bikinis.

Sun and clouds will alternate throughout the day Saturday before temperatures drop to 58 degrees overnight.

The weather will stay warm for the Easter holiday Sunday, though temperatures will likely cap at 67, according to Lautenbacher.

“Monday will be the coolest day for Easter Monday. That’ll be a high of 57,” the meteorologist said.

“But luckily, we will warm back up for New York City — Tuesday will have a high of 78, and then we’ll be in the low 70s, upper 60s for the rest of the week.”

This spring season so far has been deceivingly hotter than normal.

The tail end of March and beginning of April have been on average 3.3 degrees higher than in years past, but has included plenty of major temperature swings and freezing rains scattered throughout.

The Big Apple even notched a record-breaking day April 5 for the “warmest morning low” temperature for the month in Big Apple history when weather stations documented 57-degree temperatures, smashing the previous records set at the respective airports of 50 degrees in 2000 and 56 degrees in 1997.
