It’s official — Jonathan Anderson has been announced as Kim Jones‘ successor at Dior Men. The news of his next fashion role was announced by Bernard Arnault at LVMH‘s annual shareholders meeting.
WWD reported that the chairman and CEO of the French luxury conglomerate was responding to a shareholder’s question regarding who will be succeeding Jones at Dior. Jones resigned from his role this January, ending his seven-year tenure at the brand. Arnault’s confirmation marks the first time LVMH has spoken about Anderson’s role after he stepped down from Loewe. Ending months of speculation, the announcement confirms what industry insiders have been hearing for several seasons. Arnault did not elaborate further on Anderson’s role at Dior and whether or not he will be taking over the womenswear department from Italian designer Maria Grazia Chiuri — also, another speculative rumor within the industry.
Arnault also shouted out other LVMH designers including Sarah Burton at Givenchy, Michael Rider at Celine, and Lazaro Hernandez and Jack McCullough for Loewe. He mentioned Chiuri’s pre-fall 2025 collection which was just shown in Kyoto, as well as Nicolas Ghesquière and Pharrell Williams for Louis Vuitton, plus praised Victoire de Castellane, Dior’s longtime designer of fine jewelry collections.
Anderson’s first menswear collection is expected to arrive in June 2025.
