Channel 4 Explores Trump’s First 100 Days

UK network Channel has ordered a quick turnaround doc from genre specialist ITN Productions (ITNP) about the early days of Donald Trump’s second presidency. Trump Revolution: 100 Days That Changed the World will see Channel 4 news anchor Matt Frei considering whether Trump’s actions over tariffs, Ukraine, the Middle East, Russia, the economy, gender and diversity, and sacking of government workers since January 20 are part of a thought-out strategy to create chaos in the world’s markets and if billionaire supporters and voters still have faith in him. Former White House Press Secretary Sean Spicer, former Australian Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull and ex-United States Deputy Assistant Trade Representative K.T. McFarlane are among the experts contributing. Exec producer on the doc is Jeremy Daldry, Deputy Head of UK Factual at ITNP. Tom Reeves is the producer-director and Nickie Hyde the production manager. Nevine Mabro, Commissioning Editor for News and Current Affairs at Channel 4, ordered the one-off doc.

Disney+’s Korean Drama ‘Nine Puzzles’ Set For May Release

The latest original drama series out of Korea for Disney+, Nine Puzzles, will launch globally and on Hulu in the U.S. on May 21. The show now has a teaser poster as well. Nine Puzzles stars Kim Dami (Itaewon Class) and Son Sukku (Big Bet), along with Kim Sungkyun (Moving) and Hyun Bongsik (When Life Gives You Tangerines). It follows the story of a high school student (Kim), who discovers the murdered dead body of her uncle next to a single puzzle piece. Unable to explain how she got to the scene of the crime, she is made prime suspect. A decade later, she is a criminal profiler who finds herself caught in the middle of a series of murders, with each victim linked by a similar puzzle piece to the one from the night of her uncle’s killing. Yoon Jongbin is the director, with Lee Eunmi the writer. Nine Puzzles marks the latest Korean original for Disney+, which this year has already launched investigative thriller Unmasked and medical thriller Hyper Knife.
