Police in Los Angeles are searching for two suspects reportedly involved in a shooting that left three people, two teens and one adult female, injured, including one in critical condition, authorities confirmed to KTLA.
The violence unfolded just after 4 p.m. at what appeared to be a bus stop near the intersection of Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard and Vermont Avenue in Exposition Park.
Officer with the Los Angeles Police Department responded to reports of an assault with a deadly weapon incident at the location and three victims, two 16-year-old boys and a 50-year-old woman all suffering from gunshot wounds.
Details are limited and it’s unclear exactly how the shooting unfolded, but a preliminary investigation, according to police, revealed to suspects, described only as Hispanic males between the ages of 15 and 18, approached the victims on foot and shot all three of them.
Video of the scene posted to the Citizen App showed a heavy presence of police with paramedics attending to at least two of the victims.
Medical personnel with the Los Angeles Fire Department also responded to the scene and took two of the victims to the hospital, one of teens in stable condition and the woman in critical condition.
A spokesperson for LAPD said they believe the shooting was likely gang related. No additional details about the incident were made available.
L.A. Metro Bus Lines 204 and 754 were forced to take alternate routes onto Normandie between MLK Boulevard and Exposition because of police activity.
The detours were expected to last until at least 12 a.m., Metro said.
