Olivia Munn put aside feeling self-conscious about her cancer scars while filming sex scenes with Jon Hamm.
The 44-year-old actress and breast cancer survivor opened up about her scars being visible during intimate scenes, while promoting their new Apple TV+ drama series Your Friends and Neighbors.
“I was really nervous about doing any sex scenes because I have a lot of scars,” she said in an interview with the Los Angeles Times published on Friday, April 11. “Scars that can be seen in clothing and scars that you wouldn’t know unless I was completely nude.”
Munn, who underwent her final of five surgeries days before she started filming, said she had the support of her costars and crew, but that didn’t necessarily make things easier mentally.
The X-Men: Apocalypse actress stars as Sam, a divorcee who is having a secret affair with recently fired and disgraced hedge fund manager Andrew “Coop” Cooper (Hamm) in the all-new series.

The actress, who shares son Malcolm Hiệp, 3, and daughter Méi June, 7 months, with her husband John Mulaney, credits a set intimacy coordinator and soul searching for her progress, but still said the process took time.
“I did feel insecure, but each time I did it, I felt better,” she said.

She previously spoke to PEOPLE about how her double mastectomy and a hysterectomy, which was amid the show’s production, impacted her.
“I’ve been in places where I feel like everything I love has been stripped away from me,” Munn told PEOPLE. “And I feel like I’m about to lose everything that I’ve worked hard for.”
She also shared parallels between her character and herself.
“My character comes from a blue collar background and has married into this, and she’s really ambitious,” Munn said. “She’s a mother of two. Being in this world is everything that she’s always wanted and it represents safety and stability.”
But viewers meet Sam “right at the precipice of her losing everything,” she added.
