Jenna Bush Hager just confessed to telling a little white lie on Today With Jenna & Friends.
Bush Hager was joined by guest host Bowen Yang, who called out the increase in “entitlement” he’s seen when flying first class. The Today host confessed that she and her family don’t typically fly first class, but she will do what she can to enjoy some perks, including fibbing.
“I sit in 32D because as we talked about we got to keep things, the financial budget’s tight in the Hager household. So I wouldn’t know,” she began. She then hesitantly asked Yang, “I mean, I will admit something. Should I admit something?”
She went on to explain that she realized while traveling recently that she still had the cast in her purse from when she recently broke her middle finger.
“I have to admit, I put the sling on so I could go a little early to board at 32D,” she confessed.
“I found my sling in my purse and I thought, ‘Do I do it?’ Because I was boarding class five,” she recounted as she held up her finger. She then impersonated herself showing her allegedly broken finger to the attendant. “And I was like, ‘Ma’am do you mind?’”
Yang was rightfully shocked, but he was more so concerned about her finger and seemed to support the lying. “If you have the sling, you must,” he told her.
But the Today host maintained that her finger still hasn’t completely healed, which she demonstrated to Yang by bending it. Except the Saturday Night Live star was not buying it.
“It’s still injured. I can’t bend it more than that!” she said as she bent her middle finger.
“That’s a good bend,” Yang fired back. “Give me a sling.”
Yang is the latest guest host to join Bush Hager on Today With Jenna & Friends. He was the last guest host of an all-male week, when John Legend, Jay Ellis and Andrew Rannells also hosted.
Next up, Tyra Banks will be co-hosting the week of April 14.
Today with Jenna & Friends airs on weekdays at 10/9c on NBC.
