At this year’s Milan Design Week, Kia showcased its next-generation mobility vision through a design installation titled Transcend Journey.

The immersive experience spotlighted three key models: the production-ready Kia PV5, the outdoor-focused PV5 WKNDR concept and the sleek Concept EV2. United by Kia’s “Opposites United” design philosophy, the exhibition illustrated how its “Platform Beyond Vehicle” (PBV) strategy aims to redefine transportation by merging urban practicality with outdoor adventure.

The PV5, Kia’s first PBV set for launch in Korea and Europe later this year, offers modular flexibility with three body types — Passenger, Cargo and Chassis Cab. It features up to 248 miles of range and 30-minute fast charging, aimed at both business and leisure use.

Meanwhile, the PV5 WKNDR takes the same platform into the wilderness. With off-road tires, solar panels and a “Gear Head” off-board storage module, it’s designed for self-sufficient weekend escapes. Its sustainable materials include Nike Grind flooring, made from recycled sneakers.

The Concept EV2, a compact all-electric SUV, reimagines city driving with flexible seating, pop-up luggage dividers and removable speakers. It merges utility and style, presenting a preview of Kia’s urban EV ambitions. Collaborations with outdoor brand Helinox and South Korean coffee house Potler further enhanced the exhibition. Helinox provided structural materials for the sculptural installation, while Potler’s pop-up booth offered s’mores kits and Kia-branded coffee experiences.
