On the April 10 episode of The Young and the Restless, Phyllis and Sharon wondered why Alan would target them. He barely knows them! Sharon remembered that he talked about them being an experiment. We pointed that out exactly a month ago. We speculated that it could be nothing personal. Sharon and Phyllis are just Alan’s (or Martin’s) lab rats. But what if it’s that…and a little bit more, too?
Hate Sink
There is one person on the YR canvas who hates Phyllis (Michelle Stafford) more than even Sharon (Sharon Case) does. And that’s Christine (Lauralee Bell).
Phyllis did terrible, horrible, awful things to Christine. And she blamed Christine for all of them. “Look What You Made Me Do” is basically Phyllis’ theme song. Christine has put up with her crazy for over thirty years now. You can see how that might drive a person into therapy. And what if that therapy was with MAlan?

Tell Me All About It
Christine went to therapy with MAlan and, naturally, she talked about Phyllis. (Phyllis would expect no less. Obviously, everything is about her.) Talking about Phyllis naturally led Christine to talking about Sharon.
MAlan might have thought Christine was exaggerating about Phyllis. No one could be that unhinged. (And this man is a psychiatrist!) So she told him about Sharon to prove she was not imagining it. Her nemesis is a lunatic.

Case Study
What psychiatrist wouldn’t become fascinated with Phyllis? (Phyllis would expect no less. Obviously, everything is about her.) As a scientist, he just had to study this nutcase up close. And the best way to draw out her craziest qualities would be to lock her up with Sharon…and see what happened.
Traci (Beth Maitland) worried that her fiance had never really loved her. But this has nothing to do with his feelings for Traci. MAlan can be a lover and a doctor. He told Traci the truth. At the same time, he ran his experiments on Phyllis and Sharon.
