While several Americans are worried about the impact Trump’s recent economic moves will have on their financial stability, he’s bragging about other countries apparently cowering to him due to his recent tariffs.
Three million people have watched a viral clip of Trump’s remarks at yesterday’s National Republican Congressional Committee President’s Dinner, where he said, “I’m telling you these countries are calling us up kissing my ass.” The crowd laughed.

“They are dying to make a deal. ‘Please, please, sir, make a deal. I’ll do anything. I’ll do anything, sir,'” he mocked.
“And then I’ll see some rebel Republican. You know, some guy that wants to grandstand, say, ‘I think that Congress should take over negotiations.’”
“Let me tell you, you don’t negotiate like I negotiate.” You can hear a person in the crowd yell, “YEA!”
In response to the video, people expressed their frustration. “He has brought our standards down so low. Class and decorum are no longer requirements for leading the country,” this person said.
“It’s clear that Trump no longer considers any country previously an ally — an ally,” this person pointed out.
“I’m sorry for all the educated, cultured and well mannered Americans! If I feel so embarrassed as a foreigner, I can only imagine what they must be feeling themselves,” this person sympathized.
And a lot of people had questions. “How does he know anyone’s calling when he’s too busy playing golf this past weekend?” this person asked.
“Did anyone notice the Trump administration hasn’t named the 50 countries allegedly wanting to negotiate a deal?” this person asked.
“How long before Trump rescinds his tariffs, claims credit for the resulting stock market bounce back, and goes back to Florida and ‘wins’ another golf championship at one of his resort properties?” this person wondered.
This answer to that question is ‘not long.’ On Tuesday, Trump said on Truth Social, “A GREAT TIME TO BUY!!! DJT.” Then, his administration announced it will drop its tariffs on other countries to 10%, except for China. Its rate jumped to 125% effective immediately.
The Trump administration claims this reversal was its strategy all along.
