HUNTSVILLE, Ala (WHNT) — It’s been 115 days since Huntsville realtor Ronald Dumas Jr. was last seen.
“It, you know, quickly developed into multiple investigations kind of going at once, multiple states and things like that,” said James Andrews. He is the Dumas family’s private investigator.
What was originally a missing person’s report turned into an abduction case in February.
“Related to Ronnie’s disappearance, there were five warrants that were issued on I believe February 7th… five warrants for five different people,” Andrews said.
The biggest update in the case came Tuesday when two of those five people were arrested: Quintarius White and Kierra Clark. There were three additional people arrested for harboring those two suspects.
“Everybody’s excited about the news or, you know, it’s felt like it’s been a drought of information and, it felt like it’s been a long time since we’ve had any positive news,” he said. “So I know the family’s relieved that at least two of these folks are off the street.”
Andrews said the family of Dumas hopes this will lead them in the right direction.
“Our main thing is we’re we’re hoping that these people are going to talk to, you know, let the police know where the rest of the wanted subjects are, and, you know, possibly where we can find Ronnie,” he said.
White and Clark both have prior kidnapping history, along with various other charges.
“Just knowing that these people were already out on bond for the same stuff is obviously very aggravating for everybody, but especially for the family,” said Andrews. “They were out on a rather low bond for the types of charges that they were accused of in Tennessee. If they had remained locked up, then, you know, this story might be completely different.”
Andrews said they are still hoping tips and new information will lead them to Dumas.
There’s been a lot of ups and downs, you know, emotionally for everybody,” he said. “Obviously this is another high point for everybody, and hopefully it’s going to stay that way…. hopefully it’ll pay off.”
