EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — A 41-year-old woman has been arrested in connection with theft of property from a storage facility in far East El Paso, the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office said.
Amanda Sue Randolph, 41, has been arrested and is facing a charge of burglary of a building under a $10,000 bond, the Sheriff’s Office said. Additional charges are expected, the Sheriff’s Office added.
On Monday, April 7, deputies responded to a report of a burglary at the Extra Space Storage facility located at 851 Mission Ridge Dr. in far East El Paso.
The burglary involved a theft of more than $13,000 of property, Sheriff’s Office said.
The suspect had unlawfully entered a storage unit and stolen boxes containing valuable items, including jewelry and watches, the Sheriff’s Office said.
Detectives from the Criminal Investigation Unit were assigned to the case and took over the investigation. Through their efforts, a separate storage unit suspected of housing the stolen property was identified.
Detectives secured and executed two search warrants, resulting in the recovery of 14 boxes of stolen items, the Sheriff’s Office said.
Detectives were able to identify Randolph as the suspect and arrested her, the Sheriff’s Office said.
Interviews with witnesses and persons of interest provided further information, allowing detectives to obtain a third search warrant for an apartment.
Additional stolen property was recovered at this location, the Sheriff’s Office said.
Detectives also impounded a vehicle used during the alleged commission of this crime. A fourth search warrant was obtained, which allowed investigators to collect identifying information from within the vehicle.
Randolph was booked into the El Paso County Detention Facility.
